New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Southern Indiana-born, Nashville-based artist Stephen Wilson Jr. released an acoustic performance video of "American Gothic," his duet with country star Hailey Whitters. The track is from his critically-acclaimed debut EP bon aqua, released earlier this year on Big Loud Records. Interspersing warm scenes of Wilson and Whitters performing the song inside Nashville's famed Welcome to 1979 Studio with shots of the two exploring and inspecting the oddities found inside the former record pressing plant, the video reflects the vintage, guttural sound of the track.

Wilson shares: "Hailey Whitters and I have been singing 'American Gothic' on her US headlining tour and thought we would climb into a Nashville time capsule at Welcome to 1979 and record a live version of the song exactly how it started, grungy and stripped-down to the basics: gut-string and lyric."

Upon release, bon aqua received acclaim from American Songwriter, Wide Open Country, Holler, Rolling Stone, Whiskey Riff and more. Country Music Pride went so far as to call it, "…easily the best album of the last 5 years," declaring Wilson "…one of the best living songwriters of our time."

Just this weekend, Wilson performed at the Highways Festival at Royal Albert Hall in London with Entertainment Focus naming his set as the number one highlight of the weekend. Last month, Wilson made his Grand Ole Opry debut, performing "American Gothic" with Whitters, and also made his Stagecoach debut in the midst of his run supporting The Lone Bellow. Later this year, Wilson will be on tour with Marcus King, Drake White, Charley Crockett, 49 Winchester and Joss Stone. He will also make his Red Rocks debut supporting Midland on Oct. 14. Self-described as "Death Cab For Country," Stephen Wilson Jr. draws upon indie rock, grunge and country to create a distinct sound that is influenced by artists as diverse as The National, Willie Nelson and Nirvana. His songs have been recorded by Caitlyn Smith, Brothers Osborne, Old Dominion, MacKenzie Porter, Sixpence None the Richer and Leigh Nash.
