New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, Debbie Gibson releases her 70's inspired video for fan favorite track "Love Don't Care" off her 10th studio album 'The Body Remembers.' While embodying a pure disco renaissance, the video has a powerful message of love being a soul connection and not caring about color, gender, age, or sexuality.
"I feel there's been a modern disco resurgence thanks to artists like Kylie Minogue,
Dua Lipa and Lizzo," said Debbie. "This video pays homáge to 70's queens like Cher and
Donna Summer and the era of the Variety Show. I went full tilt with a younger man as a love interest and all because… Hey, it was the 70's!" says Ms. Gibson with a wink and a smile.
Rolling Stone stated: ""Love Don't Care" is a dance banger from her 2021 comeback album, The Body Remembers, with a wide-open inclusive spirit….It's also proof that Debbie's electric youth is timeless."
Directed by Nick Spanos and Debbie herself, the video is a 70's extravaganza, showcasing retro yet modern choreography, fabulous costumes, groovy effects, and special appearances from model Rachel Pizzolato, OG "Roller Boogie" star Jimmy Van Patten, actor Charlie Gillespie, Elliott with 2 T's of "RuPaul's Drag Race," and OG "Electric Youth" iconic dancer
Kevin Stea.
Recently, Debbie was interviewed by CBS for their Morning Mixtape series, where she took the viewers into her Las
Vegas home. She discussed highlight moments of her career, played on her bedazzled piano (once owned by Liberace), and gave a super special BTS look at the making of the "Love Don't Care" video.
She is currently embarking on "The Body Remembers Encore" tour. You can find dates and more info on the tour below.
