
(PLANET10STUDIOS) - The band Sleeping Shelby based out of the
Chicago suburb of Barrington, Illinois consisting of members Chris on Vocals, Elliot on Guitar, Chuck on Guitar, Tommy on Bass and Don on Drums, will open the show for International Super Group
Bon Jovi on Friday November 4, 2005 at United Center.
After being selected from hundreds of bands which entered a competition sponsored by Chicago radio station WLUP 97.9, Sleeping Shelby has hit the big time and will be opening the show for the International Island Records Mega Recording Artist Bon Jovi, Friday November, 4th at Chicago's United Center. If that wasn't enough good news for the band it gets better. Sleeping Shelby will also be performing live on Chicago television station WGN Channel 9 on the Friday morning show on November 4th between 8am and 9am central time.
When asked what the reaction was when he told the band they were going to be opening for Bon Jovi on Friday night, Band Manager and Riven Records Executive Jim Johnson stated, 'The guitarist Elliot fell to the floor when he heard the news.' I said to the band, 'Look guys I'm not lying its true. You're opening for Bon Jovi.' 'They still didn't believe me,' stated Jim.
Jim also went on to say, 'These guys are finally getting the chance they deserve. They have been working their ass off and they earned it!' The band will open the show at United Center in front of a crowd of 40,000 people on Friday night which will give them the kind of exposure they have been looking for.
Sleeping Shelby is also celebrating the completion of their latest CD entitled, 'Pepper Rd' which will be available through iTunes, Napster, Real Media and eMusic. In addition, the CD will be available on the band's website sleepingshelby.com and Riven Records website p10studios.com in mid November.
