The Police Officially Join TikTok!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Having originally formed in 1977, one of the most legendary groups of all time known for their infectious melodies and genre bending new wave sounds, The Police (@ThePolice) have officially joined TikTok!

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of their groundbreaking album Synchronicity this year, the iconic new wave trio, consisting of Sting, Andy Summers, and Stewart Copeland, will be sharing original content, delving into the archive with never before seen footage and inviting the global TikTok community #BehindtheSong with an intimate window into the creative process of their timeless hits.

With a unique blend of punk, reggae and new wave that still resonates today, fans on TikTok will follow a journey through the band's storied career, which has included classics like Roxanne, Every Breath You Take and Message in a Bottle.

The group is already hugely popular with the TikTok community, with "Every Breath You Take" (165,000+ total creations) the subject to a number of viral TikTok trends as users love placing the song against a backdrop of different situations, from sharing their cute pet moments to working out at the gym and dancing with friends. "I'll Be Missing You", which samples the iconic track has also had communities around the globe paying homage to the late great The Notorious B.I.G.

When asked about joining TikTok, Andy Summers said, "It is great to continue the legacy of The Police and what better place than TikTok in the time we exist in. We live in - let's face it, difficult times, but imagine our parents and grandparents then bent over those little radio speakers to hear about the world… As aficionados and fans, we must continue to have faith and believe in the art of music, and we hope our music can bring a positive message to people everywhere. Thank you TikTok!"

To celebrate joining the creative community on TikTok, The Police have also released an Official Guest Playlist including some of their most iconic songs and we can't wait to see how users create with the sounds. As The Police officially join TikTok, fans can follow them @ThePolice for an inside look at their legendary career and the music that's made them a household name for over four decades.
