Pop Singer/Songwriter Nic Billington Releases New Single, A Cover Of Billy Idol's "White Wedding" Off His Upcoming Sophomore Album Dark Horse
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) London based South African born pop singer-songwriter Nic Billington releases his new single, a cover of Billy Idol's classic "White Wedding" off his upcoming sophomore album Dark Horse set for release early next year with a premiere at 100% Rock with an upcoming video premiere at INSTINCT MAGAZINE. This sophomore album follows the success of Nic's 2013 debut album Overload with singles "Love Bound", "Kiss" and the title single "Overload" all of which charted in the Top 10 in South Africa. In the summer of 2021, Nic made the move from South Africa to London to introduce his music to new markets. His highly visual music videos for singles "Without A Warning", "You Get Me High" and "Homesick" caught the attention of the pop blogosphere and social media seeing strong live support in London and Manchester with opening slots for pop mavens Bright Light Bright Light and Myylo.

When asked about his cover of Billy Idol's "White Wedding" off his sophomore album Dark Horse Nic said "For me "White Wedding" is not just a song; it's a mantra, a reminder to ditch the rule book on what we're supposed to be, wear, or think. In my world, it's like shredding the script of expectations. Today is a clean slate - a canvas. It's about carving your own path, living authentically, and soaking in the freedom to be exactly who you are. There's nothing like that feeling of unbridled self-expression. This song reminds me to live in the now - be free, and let the good vibes roll. It's been my go-to jam at all my London gigs and the response has always been so unreal - so I decided to record my own version for the new album. I put my own spin on the song, blending a bit of the classic with a touch of the modern. We laid down the track in London, and Paul Gala worked his magic producing it in South Africa. Todd Blackmore brought in some cool vibes with his guitar skills. Honestly, the track turned out even cooler than I thought—totally picturing it as the soundtrack to a badass movie on Netflix or Prime."

Since the tender age of 6 years old Nic Billington knew he was destined to be a pop star. After relocating with his family from Scotland to South Africa in 1994, Nic often ventured out on his own to indulge in his favorite past time - music. By the age of 13, Nic had already written an array of pop songs and was involved in the school choir and later became one half of the duo, The Verdict. The Verdict enjoyed popular success with their combination of dance and house music. In 2006, Nic started working at an independent record company, where he soon began networking with producers, using his business acumen to slowly build the foundations of his career as a serious music artist. Determined to forge ahead in the music industry, Nic decided to take a different approach when it came to reaching fame. His unique covers of pop music videos on YouTube earned him a large following worldwide, reaching over a quarter of a million views. At the end of 2008, Britney Spears herself featured one of his covers on her official website, www.britneyspears.com. In 2009, Nic was selected as one of Cleo Magazine's Top 50 Eligible Bachelors, as well as being featured in outlets like People Magazine, Teen zone, The Sunday Times and Get It. Nic grasped the opportunity to have his songs feature on compilations albums, namely "Trevor Williams Vol 2", "Hot Summer Mix 2010" and "Hot Summer Mix Vol. 12". Popular South African DJ Roxxi, invited Nic to feature alongside Flash Republic's, Craig Massiv, on her electro funk debut, "Away". The single charted on numerous radio stations and took the number 1 position on East Coast Radio in 2009. Following this success Nic was soon approached by an A&R scout and referred to Clango Media, an independent record label. Together, Nic and his producer began working on his highly anticipated debut album "Overload". Following the success of his debut album Overload, Nic is getting ready to release his sophomore album Dark Horse early next year.
