New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Featuring guest appearances from high-energy US pop-soul group Lawrence and one of the all-time great American vocalists Michael McDonald, "Wherever I Go" is the latest single to be taken from Jacob Collier's wildly eclectic forthcoming album Djesse Vol. 4. Neatly veering between pop, soul, funk and R&B, the upbeat new track, which rings with Colliers trademark sound and irrepressible energy, is released today via Hajanga / Decca / Interscope / Universal Music.

Following previous singles WELLLL, Little Blue featuring Brandi Carlile, and Never Gonna Be Alone featuring John Mayer and Lizzy McAlpine, "Wherever I Go" once again highlight's Collier's singular musical dexterity and gives a further tantalising glimpse into the kaleidoscopic world of Djesse Vol. 4, which will be released on February 29th 2024.

Jacob Collier:
"This is a song I wrote inspired by so much of the music I loved growing up - the Doobie Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, and many other funky soulful pocket-based superheroes. I finished it with some of my best friends in the world - Clyde, Gracie and Jordan from the band Lawrence - who I've grown up alongside and been jamming with for the past six years. To have the maestro Michael McDonald involved as well means the whole world to me - he was a great inspiration for this song and has been an immense inspiration to me growing up. YEAH!!!!"

Michael McDonald:
"Jacob Collier is one of contemporary music's most innovative artists. It was nothing short of a thrill for me to be invited to participate on the recording of his original song, "Wherever I Go". It was an opportunity to witness Jacob's unique genius up close and the chance to perform again, (this time virtually), with Clyde and Gracie Lawrence. Two very talented recording artists in their own right."

Lawrence:
"Jacob has been one of our favorite artists and closest friends for years, and we've been so lucky to share not only several stages with him, but also many late-night hangs, internet rabbit holes, and a heated badminton rivalry. When he mentioned the idea of us working on a song together, we were honored, and when we heard his early demo, we were blown away by how perfectly it sat in the Venn diagram between our projects, as it felt like a such a great homage to the '70s soul music that we all grew up on. To have Michael McDonald, an absolute hero of all of ours, join us on the track makes the whole thing an absolute dream come true. We're so excited for it to be out in the world!"

The incredible roll call of artists lining up to collaborate on Collier's dazzling Djesse tetralogy continues to grow. Michael McDonald, Lawrence, Remi Wolf, Brandi Carlile, John Mayer and Lizzy McAlpine - all of whom feature on Djesse Vol. 4 - join a fantastically diverse range of talents to have collaborated across previous volumes, from Ty Dolla $ign, T-Pain, Jessie Reyez and Daniel Caesar to Kimbra, Chris Thile, Rapsody, Tori Kelly, JoJo, Lianne La Havas, Oumou Sangaré, Laura Mvula, Steve Vai, Hamid El Kasri and Take 6.

Throughout the evolution of Djesse, Collier's career has grown to reach tremendous heights. He is a 5-time Grammy winner and 11-time nominee, and the first British act in history to win a Grammy for each of his first four albums. In the last twelve months alone his audience choir videos have garnered hundreds of millions of views, he was the first-ever male to be featured as a Vogue Darling, he appeared on the July cover of Rolling Stone UK, and co-wrote and performed on seven tracks of Stormzy's latest album This Is What I Mean. He has also collaborated extensively with Coldplay, performing with them on Saturday Night Live in February, as a featured guest at their Wembley Stadium shows last summer, and on their album Music of the Spheres. He has also contributed to major hits including SZA's "Good Days" and songs by Lizzy McAlpine and Kehlani, and launched his signature line of music-making Crocs.
"Wherever I Go" is out now and Djesse Vol. 4 will be released on February 29th 2024.
