New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On January 12, 2024, The Korgis' Orchestrations, recorded with The Rialto Symphony Orchestra, will be available in North and South America on CD and Digital through Omnivore Recordings. The record features the classic pop band's greatest hits and more performed with a full symphony orchestra, with packaging containing lyrics and a track-by-track commentary from the band.
The Korgis arrived on the music scene in 1979 and their second single, "If I Had You," hit #13 on the UK Singles Chart. The track would eventually be covered by artists including Rod Stewart and Tracy Ullman. However, it was the first single from their second album, Dumb Waiters, that hit the Top 5. "Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime" instantly became an '80s classic, and continues to live on thanks to cover versions from artists including Zucchero with Vanessa Carlton, Beck (featured in the film Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind), Erasure, The Dream Academy, and more.
Continuing to release new music to this day, The Korgis teamed up with The Rialto Symphony Orchestra to revisit their over four decades of enduring songs and song writing. Orchestrations presents new, orchestral versions of tracks including "Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime," "If I Had You," and "All The Love In The World," plus the South African hit "Don't Look Back" (originally produced by Trevor Horn), "Something About The Beatles," and five more Korgis klassics.
