New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Lauded as one of Alternative Press magazine's "100 Bands You Need To Know," emo rock group THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT are excited to announce they'll be bringing their theatrical live show to a wider audience as the opening act for the headlining summer/fall North American tour by multi-platinum hard rock powerhouse FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, their Better Noise Music labelmates. The tour, also featuring Marilyn Manson and Slaughter To Prevail, kicks off on August 2, in Hershey, PA and runs through September 19 when it will conclude in Houston, TX. The band have today, May 1, announced three additional shows headlined by Marilyn Manson alongside support act Slaughter To Prevail amidst the tour. THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT will follow the tour with performances at two of the fall's biggest rock festivals, Louder Than Life and Aftershock. THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT are currently on the road as direct support for Dead On A Sunday through May 10. See all upcoming dates listed below.
"We are so thankful to Five Finger Death Punch for graciously inviting us along on this massive headlining tour," states THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT vocalist Lee Jennings. "This is our first foray into arenas and we are grateful for the opportunity to bring our message to the masses."
THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT's new single, the evocative "You're So Ugly When You Cry (feat. Bert McCracken of The Used)," has been acclaimed as having "all the markers of the sweet bygone era that shaped so many of us with their trademark 'My Chemical Romance-esque' sound." (2470 Mag). The song contrasts upbeat anthemic pop-punk melodies with lyrics about hitting rock bottom.

THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT—LEE JENNINGS (vocals), CODY WEISSINGER (guitar), CALEB FREIHAUT (guitar/auxiliary), ROBERT WESTON (bass), and HOMER UMBANHOWER (drums)—have relentlessly toured across the country built an unwavering fanbase opening for acts including Shinedown, Ice Nine Kills, Underoath, Skillet, From Ashes To New, Starset, Pvris and ISSUES. The band's intention for their music is to represent 'outcasts' from all walks of life-the weird, the misunderstood, the marginalized—which they showcase through their live performances which include extravagant theatrics, stage décor, costumed actors, and more.
THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT released the SOUNDS FROM BEYOND THE ABYSS (VOL. 1) EP via Better Noise Music last October (2023). The four-track EP features four occult-driven tracks which cater to the band's potent blend of modern rock anthems molded with emo and pop-punk theatrics. Of the four tracks, two are covers of iconic songs from artists that have inspired THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT's vibrant sound: Radiohead's "Creep" (released in partnership with The Hot Topic Foundation to support non-profit music, art, LGBTQ+ and mental health organizations for youth and teens) and Tears For Fears' "Mad World." Stream and/or download SOUNDS FROM BEYOND THE ABYSS (VOL 1) now at https://thefuneralportrait.ffm.to/sfbtavol1. Stay tuned for news on their forthcoming debut album later this year.
