New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Rochester, NY, garage rock legends The Chesterfield Kings are back with the new single/7-inch, "Fly The Astral Plane" (b/w a cover of The Who's "So Sad About Us").
Frontman Andy Babiuk says, "I wrote the 'Fly The Astral Plane' with a more psychedelic approach. The lyrics can have a double meaning depending on what you're into. But if you close your eyes and listen, you'll get there…"

The track follows the recent Record Store Day release of the 7" single "Electrified" (co-written with Stevie Van Zandt) along with b-side "My Back Pages."

This past spring, The Chesterfield Kings toured as part of The Wicked Cool Records Revue!, hosted by Hard Rock and Little Steven's Underground Garage, and next spring the band will embark on the first ever Little Steven's Underground Garage Cruise, which will set sail from Miami, FL to Naussau, Bahamas, May 9-13.

Hailing from Rochester, NY, garage rock legends The Chesterfield Kings formed in the late 70's, heavily mining the sounds of 1960s music from The Rolling Stones to acoustic blues and more. Instrumental in sparking the 1980s garage band revival, The Chesterfield Kings went on to recorded 11 albums and 15 singles, toured all over the world and performed live on television shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and even made an appearance as themselves on the HBO hit show The Sopranos. The Chesterfield Kings went on hiatus in 2009 but are back with newly recorded music and their first live performances in over 15 years. At one of their recent shows in March of 2024, while introducing the band on stage Steven Van Zandt proclaimed, "Back in the 80's music was getting a little slick with all the hair metal bands all over MTV, things were staring to drift away from traditional rock and roll and a new genre was born at that time called Garage Rock. The Chesterfield Kings are the guys who invented it!"
