New York, NY (Top40 Charts) After making a bold entrance with their aptly titled first single "Debut," KATSEYE returns with "Touch," a song that reveals the group's softer side. Elegant vocals from the six members are paired with dreamy ethereal tones as they ponder the complexities of love, wounded feelings and rediscovering one's self-worth. The track was produced by Blake Slatkin, Cashmere Cat, Omer Fedi and Taka Perry.
In the official video for "Touch," a citywide search is underway for KATSEYE's Yoonchae who has reportedly gone missing. KATSEYE's strong bond of sisterhood and vibrant performance shine in the video, which was directed by Cody Critcheloe (Demi Lovato, Kylie Minogue, King Princess) and shot in Los Angeles. Fans who look closely will spot a few Easter eggs that nod to the dream charms that symbolize each member's unique qualities.
KATSEYE - the first-ever global girl group formed using KPOP artist development methodologies - will appear in the Netflix docuseries "Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE" premiering August 21. With unprecedented access, the series will be a compelling portrayal of the journey to global stardom, including insight into the unique training and development program from HYBE and Geffen Records. The series was directed by Nadia Hallgren (Becoming) and produced by HYBE, Interscope Films and Boardwalk Pictures.
"Touch" is the second single from KATSEYE's debut EP, SIS (Soft Is Strong), scheduled for August 16 via HYBE x Geffen Records. The EP's title reflects one of KATSEYE's core beliefs - Soft Is Strong - and also nods to the sisterhood they've forged, despite coming from immensely different cultures. The six members of KATSEYE are: DANIELA (USA); LARA (USA); MANON (Switzerland); MEGAN (USA); SOPHIA (Philippines); and YOONCHAE (South Korea).
Rolling Stone placed "Debut" on its "Songs You Need to Know" playlist upon its release last month. In this feature, Teen Vogue noted, "'Debut' is KATSEYE's official introduction to the world and sees the group taking mainstream pop head-on." Popdust said, "Their vocal diversity makes 'Debut' an exciting listen- starting strong and building throughout its entirety." Praising the official video, Billboard observed, "the sure to be summer bop is full of sass and top notch choreo that we would expect from the talented group of six." Directed by Gregory Ohrel and shot in Medellin, Colombia, the video amassed over three million views in less than a week.
Vogue declared, "KATSEYE's members are out to change the look and sound of modern pop as we know it." PEOPLE said, "Feminine, powerful and unique is the only way to describe the hot new girl group that is KATSEYE."
