New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Keith Urban's HIGH, his 11th studio album, is now available for digital pre-order, along with a new song "Heart Like A Hometown," from the forthcoming September 20th release.
"When I was a kid, our family moved around a lot," says Urban of "Heart Like A Hometown." By the 5th grade I'd been in four schools and lived in nine different houses. So, a 'hometown' felt more about my family, and a place inside of me, somewhere I could find my center. It's a theme that's always spoken to me. Songs like Don Williams' "If Hollywood Don't Need You" and Glen Campbell's "Country Boy (You Got Your Feet in LA)" and a song I recorded on my FUSE album, "Come Back To Me." Those songs and this one all share a similar feeling, a kind of grounded safety, familiarity and a place where I can always find ME."
Urban has thus far released four songs from HIGH including its current single "Messed Up As Me," as well as "Straight Line," "GO HOME W U" with Lainey Wilson, "Wildside" and now "Heart Like A Hometown." Early reviews have been glowing, with global listening sessions earning universal praise.
Of HIGH, Urban says, "When I'm writing a song, or when I'm in the studio recording it, or even when its coming to life on the stage, it's the same feeling of being 'in the flow.' It's timeless, it's weightless - and I feel euphoric - I feel HIGH."
The ambiguity of the word peaked Urban's curiosity and so the name of the album. "What makes you 'high' can mean whatever you want it to mean," says Urban. "It might be physical, spiritual, herbal, meditative, chemical or musical, but it's definitely a place of utopia."
Urban will be launching "KEITH URBAN'S HIGH in Vegas", ten exclusive shows at Fountainebleau in Las Vegas, on Friday, October 4th. Additional shows will take place on October 5, 9, 11 and 12, as well as February 14, 15, 19, 21 and 22 in 2025.
