New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Back on tap for its ninth edition, Trombone Shorty's Treme Threauxdown will return to New Orleans during Jazz Fest for one of the weekend's most beloved events. The show takes place Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the historic Saenger Theatre, where Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will be joined by an exciting slate of special guests, including Elvis Costello,
Lauren Daigle, Andy Grammer, and Allen Stone. As always, additional surprise performers will be revealed the night of the show.
Since its debut, the Treme Threauxdown has become a can't-miss celebration of New Orleans music, community, and spontaneity. Known for its electrifying energy and all-star sit-ins, past editions of the Threauxdown have seen everyone from Jon Batiste, Mavis Staples, Allen Toussaint, and
Dr. John to Eric Church, Usher, Joan Jett, and
Gary Clark Jr. take the stage. Previous surprise guests have included Nick Jonas, Dierks Bentley, Steve Miller, and Wyclef Jean—all jamming alongside Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue for one-of-a-kind moments that only happen in New Orleans.
As he has for the past 11 years, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will also perform the hallowed final set of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on Sunday, May 4. On April 28 at Tipitina's, the 12th annual Shorty Fest Presented by Acura will also take place, serving as the Trombone Shorty Foundation's flagship benefit concert and community celebration. This year's lineup includes Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue,
Black Opry Revue, and "The Jersey Takeover" with Dogs in a Pile joined by special guests Robert Randolph and Jake Clemons (of the E Street Band). Students from the Trombone Shorty Academy will also perform throughout the evening. The festivities kick off at 5PM with a free outdoor Cultural Block Party on Napoleon Avenue featuring a
Battle of the Bands, a kids' area, food trucks, a VIP tent, and a special Walk of Fame induction honoring Shannon Powell. Proceeds from the event support the Foundation's mission to empower young musicians through education, mentorship, and performance opportunities.
Shorty's busy slate at home during Jazz Fest is the latest in a landmark year that included a performance of "America the Beautiful" with
Lauren Daigle at the Super Bowl in New Orleans. He also earned his fourth GRAMMY nomination for his contribution to Live at the 2024 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival by New Breed Brass Band, the New Orleans ensemble led by his nephew, Jenard Andrews. Last December he took the stage at the CBS
National Christmas Tree Lighting at the White House, and honored Arturo Sandoval at the Kennedy Center Honors, which aired nationally on CBS and Paramount+.
Looking ahead, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will hit the road this summer for a nationwide run of shows alongside JJ Grey & Mofro and Dumpstaphunk. The tour will bring them to major venues across the country, including The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles (June 8), The Salt Shed in
Chicago (July 12), and stops in San Diego, San Francisco, Boston, Portland, and more. For additional info, please visit: https://www.tromboneshorty.com/tour.
