Bay Area Alt-Rock Band The Happys Announce New Album 'Listen To The Happys'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Northern California alt-rock band The Happys have just released their new full-length album Listen to The Happys, a record packed with indie grit, grunge nostalgia, and high-profile collaborations that reflect the band's deep reverence for rock history.

The album was primarily produced by Brett Brazil, with the track "What's That Smell" recorded and mastered by Jack Endino, the legendary producer known for his work with Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Mudhoney. Mixing duties across the album were handled by Brian Rosemeyer, known for his work with Weezer, Starcrawler, and Kurt Vile, adding a lush, dynamic feel to the record.

A standout moment comes on the track "She Found Love," recorded at Eric Wilson's (Sublime) house by Daniel Lonner of Spray Allen, a band also featuring Wade Youman of Unwritten Law. Lonner even contributed lyrical touches, lending further authenticity to the song's raw energy.
Recording sessions spanned traditional studios and experimental locations—including a massive full-pipe reservoir in Novato, CA—blending conventional production with adventurous sonic textures. For added rock history, Alex Sanchez played guitar using the same amp Kurt Cobain used on Nirvana's Bleach during "What's That Smell."

The album also marks a historic moment with Eric Wilson himself lending vocals, an extremely rare treat for fans of Sublime and '90s rock.

Reflecting on the project, frontman Nick Petty says, "I'm genuinely very excited. It was a big deal recording with Jack Endino, Eric Wilson, and Brian Rosemeyer. Brian recorded some of Kurt Vile's best work, and I got the reference through Rob Schnapf, who worked on 'Mellow Gold' and Elliott Smith—these are my heroes. If this was Goodfellas, they're Paulie and I'm Henry Hill, you know what I mean."
To celebrate the release, The Happys will hit the road this July for an East Coast tour with Kyle Rising, bringing their electrifying live energy to stages across the country.

Formed in 2012 by songwriter Nick Petty, The Happys are a Northern California alternative rock band known for their raw, energetic sound and emotionally honest songwriting. Blending elements of grunge, surf rock, and punk, the band brings a rebellious yet melodic edge to the modern alt-rock scene.
The Happys have built a loyal following through relentless touring, DIY hustle, and an unmistakable live presence. Their music channels the angst and humor of bands like Nirvana and Sublime while carving out a vibe that's uniquely their own. With several releases under their belt and a reputation for unpredictability and authenticity, The Happys are a band rooted in resilience, chaos, and catharsis.

The band has shared stages with a range of notable acts, including Sublime with Rome, Hobo Johnson, Jakob Nowell, Spray Allen, Suicidal Tendencies, WILLIS, Merciful Fate, and Pennywise, among others. Their discography includes two full-length albums, "Trippin" and "ADHD," and an EP titled "Bipolar."
The Happys' upcoming LP was recorded with producers Brian Rosemeyer and Jack Endino, known for their work with Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Sonic Youth. Some of the new material was recorded at Eric Wilson's (Sublime) home studio in Bonsall, CA.
