NEW YORK, NY (Astralwerks) - Astralwerks is proud to announce that we have received seven nominations for the 48th Annual GRAMMY Awards, which were announced today in New York City by The Recording Academy.

The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim were each nominated twice in both the "Best Dance Recording" category and the "Best Electronic/Dance Album" category. Kraftwerk was also nominated in the latter category. The "Six Feet Under Volume 2 - Everything Ends" soundtrack was also recognized twice.

The Chemical Brothers track "Galvanize" (featuring Q-Tip) was nominated for "Best Dance Recording." This track is taken from the album "Push The Button," which was also nominated for "Best Electronic/Dance Album."

The Chemical Brothers were nominated in the "Best Dance Recording" category last year for "Get Yourself High" (featuring k-os). The band won a GRAMMY Award in 1998 for "Best Rock Instrumental" for "Block Rockin' Beats." They also recently won the MTV European Video Music Award's prestigious "Best Video" award for their song "Believe." The Chemical Brothers recently released a digital-only single on entitled "Live 05" featuring tracks recorded live during their recent world tour.

Fatboy Slim's track "Wonderful Night" (featuring Lateef) was nominated for "Best Dance Recording." This track is taken from the album "Palookaville," which was also nominated in the "Best Electronic/Dance Album" category.

Fatboy Slim won a GRAMMY Award in 2002 for "Best Short Form Music Video" for "Weapon of Choice" (featuring Christopher Walken). This video was the most downloaded video for the first week of the recent iTunes launch with 6490 units sold.

Kraftwerk's live album "Minimum-Maximum" was also nominated in the "Best Electronic/Dance Album" category.

This is the first GRAMMY nomination for Kraftwerk, one of the most influential bands in music history. In a career spanning more than 35 years, the German electro pioneers have been endlessly saluted and mimicked by each new generation of innovators. Kraftwerk recently released a double DVD set from their ground-breaking 2005 world tour. A special edition "Notebook" Box Set featuring the double DVD and double CD of the "Minimum-Maximum" live set will be released on December 27.

The "Six Feet Under Volume 2 - Everything Ends" soundtrack was nominated for "Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media."

Six Feet Under gained critical acclaim following its premier in 2001 and has garnered a number of prestigious awards including a Golden Globe for Best Television Series Drama, an Emmy for Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series and SAG and DGA awards. This soundtrack boasts a diverse and exciting selection of artists whose music has appeared in previous seasons of the show and in its promos.

The track "Cold Wind" by The Arcade Fire from this soundtrack was nominated for "Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media." This exclusive track was created just for the fifth and final season of the award winning show. The soundtrack also featured exclusive songs from Caesars, Interpol, and Jem, as well as the hauntingly beautiful track "Breathe Me" by Sia featured in the unforgettable final scene of the series finale.

The 48th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and once again will be broadcast live in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8 - 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
