NEW YORK, NY (Virgin Records) - As Gorillaz' international smash " Demon Days" approaches double-platinum certification, it was announced today that the band received Grammy nominations in the following categories: Record of the Year - Feel Good Inc.; Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals - Feel Good Inc. (with De La Soul); Best Urban Alternative Performance - Dirty Harry; Producer of the Year - Danger Mouse; Best Short Form Music Video - Feel Good Inc. The winners will be announced on February 8th at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Grammy nominations represent a fitting end to a year that has seen Gorillaz reach new creative and commercial heights. Last month, Gorillaz wowed the crowds at the MTV Europe Music Awards with a revolutionary animated performance before picking up the award for Best Group. That same week, the triumphant and completely sold out Demon Days Live shows were staged at the Manchester International Festival, further establishing Gorillaz as the most successful virtual musical entity in history. Reached with news of the Grammy nominations at the band's HQ Kong Studios, the band commented: 2D: "Yeah, we just heard. Five nominations... That's er... wicked. My mum's gonna be well pleased." Noodle: "On behalf of all of Gorillaz, I'd like to say we're all really pleased to hear this. It's a real honor."
