Diamond Rio's Jimmy Olander reflects on his Team Rio experience, 'Team Rio runs again! Last year's 1/2 marathon was the most empowering thing I've done since I started skydiving. What makes it even better is the chance to help raise money for Diamond Rio's favorite charity, Big Brothers Big Sisters. I've only done the one half marathon but I'm definitely going back for seconds. And don't worry, you can keep your 'fat jeans' in the back of the closet until the Country Music Marathon is over. I challenge anyone to come run/walk with Team Rio and not have a complete blast. One more thing, you will be surprised to find out that Krispy Kremes and Gatorade really complement each other after a long run.'
Funds raised through Team Rio will be used to support Big Brothers Big Sisters programs in Middle Tennessee. For donations, or to join Team Rio, contact Sarah Beatty with Big Brothers Big Sisters at 615-329-9191 ext. 221 or via e-mail at [email protected] or [email protected].
