NASHVILLE, TN. (soundandspeed2006.com) - Rising country music newcomers Cowboy Crush, Trent Tomlinson and John Stone will be the featured performers on the new artist showcases at the inaugural Sprint Sound and Speed - Presented by SunTrust - A Celebration of Music & Motorsports.

Each act will perform on the main stage of the Gaylord Entertainment Center, downtown Nashville, on Saturday, January 14. Stone will perform at 9:30 am, Tomlinson at 12:10 pm and Cowboy Crush at 2:40 pm.

Cowboy Crush is Trenna Barnes (lead singer), Renaé Truex (fiddle), Becky Priest (keyboards), Debbie Johnson (bass) and Darla Perlozzi (drums). All five members spent a fair amount of time in Music City, playing the Lower Broadway honky-tonks and backing up country artists before forming the band. Cowboy Crush records for Asylum/Curb Records and their first single, "Nobody Ever Died of A Broken Heart," will be featured on their debut release.

Singer, songwriter Tomlinson was a Printer's Alley regular in Nashville before landing a succession of publishing and recording deals that ended due to corporate takeovers. As a writer he's had cuts by Sara Evans and Emerson Drive. Tomlinson records for Lyric Street Records and will release his debut, Country Is My Rock, later this year.

Tootsie's Records' artist John Stone is an Army vet who served as a Gunner in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm. The Dogtown, Alabama, native has had cameos on "The Today Show" as well as NFL halftime highlights. His debut LP is Meet John Stone.

Proceeds from Sprint Sound and Speed will benefit the Victory Junction Gang Camp for children with chronic medical conditions and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum charities.

Tickets are available at all TicketMaster outlets or by logging on to www.soundandspeed2006.com
