LOS ANGELES (Music Resource Group/ BAD BUBBA RECORDS) - A Winning Finalist of the 5th Annual Independent Songwriting Awards USA 2006 held by The Music Resource Group, Chrisse Mamafrika has had yet one more outstanding achievement in the music industry with her song "Better Way" featuring her soaring vocals with dynamic guest artist "Jahbutu" from Trinidad.
Judging this Award are such acclaimed artists as Norah Jones and Melissa Etheridge and the Industry involves Billboard Magazine, Putumayo Records amongst many others.

The winning track "Better Way" is from Chrisse's album "This Is How I See It" and the song has also received a Winning Finalist Award in the John Lennon Songwriting Awards 2004 (world).
The album itself won selection from MIDEM for performances at Palaises du Festival, in Cannes France in 2005.

The appeal from this very 'rootsy' album lays in the very powerful vocals, unique melodic and lyrical interaction with strong Drum & Bass overtones and reggae grooves.
"Better Way" features Chrisse Mamafrika's own group of drummers, The Drummers of Toumba! Toumba! including performances on djembe by Chrisse and Jahbutu.
The album performances and production are world-class and deserving of the recognition by the music industry.
The album is having airplay on college radio in Canada and in the USA, Worldbeat Canada has played the album alongside such artists as Wycliff Jean and Angelique Kidjo.

Chrisse's up and coming album "MANTRA DUB" is due for completion in 2006 and is as big as "This Is How I See It" featuring artists, from Trinidad, and Ghana. The songs on this new album have a very strong dub, and world influence. Featured on this exciting album are some extraordinary African tracks written and performed with her new lineup which includes Joel Vanderpuije from Ghana, and Bryan Macaranas - Chrisse, Joel and Bryan all hold endorsements from major drumming and Percussion companies, such as Mapex, Pearl, Meinl and Toca. Chrisse hopes to have the album released prior to a tour to Africa in February 2007.

Chrisse is based in Brisbane, Australia, where she runs the Voiceworx Academy for Recording Artists - mentoring young artists, and producing many of their albums. She songwrites and produces R&B, Hiphop, and Pop/Rock albums and records much of her own work at Nikinali Studios in Sydney and Auran in Brisbane.
