NEW YORK (Alex Steininger) - Aluminum Babe, a New York-based dance-punk band well regarded for their insane live show, danceable melodies, and rock appetite, long championed by the BBC's Huw Stephens (who proclaimed Aluminum Babe's "Vit.Ri.Fied" the best new record he's heard in years), recorded a Peel Session on October 11, 2005, "Vit.Ri.Fied"'s street date. Aluminum Babe recorded their Peel Session in the same room as Led Zeppelin,
David Bowie, U2, and others. Four tracks were recorded and all of them aired. The band's name was mentioned thirty-two times during the two hour show, and "Vit.Ri.Fied" was heavily plugged.
The band is embarking on a West Coast tour in support of "Vit.Ri.Fied", after recently returning from a successful tour of Europe.
The tour dates are:

"The best new record I've heard in years!" proclaimed Huw when he heard New York outfit Aluminum Babe's album "Vitrified". And then, by chance, he bumped into singer Anna at a train station.
"I got their album through the post and loved the heartfelt, electro-tinged tunes," says Huw. "Weeks later I was queuing in Paddington train station and saw an Aluminum Babe sticker on the back of a guitar on someone's back. I went up to say hello, and it turned out to be Anna, lead singer with the band!"
Rodney Bingenheimer, the "Mayor Of The Sunset Strip", a renowned DJ on the world famous KROQ, has also been showing support for Aluminum Babe's "Vit.Ri.Fied" album, playing the single, "Everything 2 Me", on his "Rodney on the Roq" show.
Declares the New York Press, "Finally someone combines bubble pop hooks with raw punk power without sounding like anyone else". They went on to refer to "Vit.Ri.Fied" as "an instant classic".
Swedish-born Anna moved to New York and formed Aluminum Babe in 2001 when she met bassist Jorge. They released their debut EP 'Aluminum Babe' in May 2003 and completed the line-up with the addition of Darren and Jeff on drums and guitars.
When it comes to musical inspiration Anna cites the Sex Pistols, dance music and er, Alice Cooper as influences.
"I love his melodies!" laughs Anna. "My favourite album is 'Love It To Death'. I saw him in New York. He does all kinds of strange stuff like walking around with inflatable dolls."
