Music Channel, the nation's only 24/7 cable network dedicated to all styles of gospel music, has announced a new Friday night program dedicated to the top in hip-hop gospel. Called "Hype & Glory," this program will air weekly at 11 p.m. Eastern Time, and is being developed by Open Rivers Pictures.
"We are searching all corners of the earth to find the best hip-hop gospel talent to feature on Gospel Music Channel, including both male and female show hosts, that will bring unique aspects of hip-hop culture to the channel," said Tammy Johnson, CEO and executive producer of Open Rivers Pictures. "We're also seeking out top graffiti artists, spoken word poets, break dancers and emcees - as well as deejays that aren't afraid to turn up the heat when it comes to a little friendly competition."
In addition to live auditions, artists will have an opportunity to leave demo reels- raw or well-produced at the UGA Mixer. Open River Pictures is located at 2001 M.L.K. Atlanta UGA Chapter Hosts Artist & Industry Mixer for Holy Hip Hop Summit Attendees Teams up with HolyHipHop.com and Amen Films to provide an evening of networking & entertainment
The UGA Artist & Industry mixer tradition continues as the Atlanta area Urban Gospel Alliance (UGA) chapter hosts a networking mixer to welcome Holy Hip Hop Summit attendees on January 12th, 2005 from 9pm - 12pm. Urban Gospel ministries, media, artists, labels, and other industry personnel are invited out to network and fellowship at the Hilton Garden Inn at the Atlanta Airport Millennium Center, located at 2301 Sullivan Rd, College Park, Georgia.
The mixer, sponsored in part by HolyHipHop.com and Amen Films, will feature an exclusive 30 minute preview of the upcoming film "Holy Hip Hop the Movie". The evening will also include a special performance by Gospel Hip Hop artist BB Jay and plenty of time to network to further the Gospel through Holy Hip Hop and other urban gospel genres.
Ursula Frederick-Brown, chapter director of the Atlanta area UGA, and Curtis Jermany, UGA founder & Natl Director, will be on hand to meet with artists interested in performance opportunities at UGA sponsored events.
