NEW YORK (By Miguel Banuelos/ V2 Music) - Scottish lovely, Isobel Campbell, is thrilled to announce her first ever tour of the US as a solo artist. The March jaunt will be the first opportunity for fans this side of the Atlantic to hear tracks from her much anticipated & critically acclaimed new album, 'Ballad of the Broken Seas'. Backing her on the tour will be a group of fellow Glasgow luminaries: Eugene Kelly - member of the legendary Vaselines, Eugenius and Captain America, on vocals and guitar, Jim McCulloch of indie faves The Groovy Little Numbers and the chart topping Soup Dragons on guitar and vocals, along with sometime Teenage Fanclub member Dave McGowan (on everything from bass and keyboards to lap steel) and Dave Gormley on drums.

Isobel will be playing songs from her forthcoming collaboration with the Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age howler Mark Lanegan, 'Ballad of the Broken Seas' (in stores on March 7th). The sense of contrast between Isobel‘s sweet pristine vocals, and Lanegan's wounded, regret-stewed burr has made the record a critics fave in the UK receiving four stars from MOJO. Their 4 song 'Ramblin Man' EP, which is available now, contains a quite dirty cover of the Hank Williams classic (a track that has an even dirtier video which can be viewed at NME.com) and has received rave reviews, with Spin.com calling it 'a bittersweet mix of country and rock… walking the line between grit & grace'.

Isobel will also reach into her bountiful back catalog for the tour, playing songs from her first critically heralded solo record 'Amorino' and the lushly-orchestrated melancholia of her two Gentle Waves LP's. Of course, there will be some choice cover songs (including talk of covering the Vaselines' classic ‘Son of a Gun') and some previews of her forthcoming V2 folk album.
