NEW YORK, NY (KOCH Records)- U.K. icon and KOCH Recording artist Ian Brown has been nominated for a prestigious Brit Award. Brown is nominated in the category British Male Solo artist, alongside Antony & the Johnsons, James Blunt, Robbie Williams and Will Young. The Awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, February 15th, and be televised in the U.K. the following evening.

2005 has been a spectacular year for Ian Brown. He released the strongest solo record of his career, "Solarized," which received rave reviews from both the British and American press. Brown also released "The Greatest," a brilliant collection of smash hits from his solo efforts.

After fronting one of the most important English bands in the '90s, The Stone Roses, Ian Brown continued his career as a solo artist, and released four highly acclaimed, successful albums. The albums - "Unfinished Monkey Business" (1998), "Golden Greats" (2000), "Music of the Spheres" (2001) and "Solarized" (2005) - each garnered massive hits for Brown in the U.K., and proved that Brown was still one of the U.K.'s most influential musicians. KOCH Records reissued Brown's first three solo albums in the U.S. in 2005 with extra tracks and bonus materials.
