NEW YORK (AP) - Hip-hop mogul Master P and his 11-year-old son Lil' Romeo will co-star in Pieces Of The Puzzle, a new Nickelodeon sitcom due in the spring. The program is loosely based on The Partridge Family, a highly successful family-and-music-based sitcom from the '70s. In Pieces Of The Puzzle, Master P will play the father to a band of siblings, one of which will be Lil' Romeo.

Master P explained that he strategically released Lil' Romeo's self-titled debut album on a new label, Souljah Music, in order to allow him to cross over to the mainstream without the negatives associated with his No Limit brand. "I think Souljah Music came from me looking at the big picture," he said.
"Now that I have my son and I wanna put a couple of these other acts out that's not going to have any cussing on it, I had to create something that's still a part of No Limit that's basically Romeo-that's created over Romeo because I didn't want to have no negative with Nickelodeon, Disney, and any of the other big pop-crossover companies. 'Cause, you know, my music is what it is-I can't change that, but I definitely want to give my son a clean slate."
