Sydney, AU (Sony BMG Music Entertainment) - The UK's Hope Of The States have a new album on the way, and one of the tracks has been described as "Joy Division goes disco". The album, 'Left', will be the follow-up to their debut record of 2004 'The Lost Riots', and will see the band move in a new direction. "It doesn't really sound anything like the first record," frontman Sam Herlihy told BBC 6Music. "There's a lot more songs as opposed to big, sort of, noise things. We just got a bit bored doing that, really... So it's a bit more concise than the first record. It's a bit more guitary." Hope Of The States worked again with producer Ken Thomas, who was behind their brilliant debut, and recorded the album in different studios around the world. Sam told 6Music that when in Prague, they worked with a 15-piece male voice choir that appears on two tracks ? 'The Good Fight and 'Sing It Out', "which is like a ridiculous house song. Like Joy Division goes disco with a 15-piece choir". We'll keep you posted on Hope Of The States happenings right here!
