LONDON, UK (BBC/Radio 1) - A decision on the future of pop act Hear'Say, who have held crisis talks after reports of arguments within the group, has been put off until the end of the week.
Their record company had expected to issue a statement on Monday after the five members met with their manager at the end of last week. But they now say an announcement on whether any members will leave is not likely to come until the end of this week.
There have been reports of arguments between bandmates Kym Marsh and Myleene Klass, and that Marsh wanted to go solo.
They met on Friday to thrash out their future after waiting for their manager, Chris Herbert, to return to the UK. If one of Hear'Say left, it could jeopardise the group's future, including their planned arena tour in the autumn - which could cost them millions of pounds in lost revenue and possible legal action if cancelled.
Last week, The Sun newspaper reported that Marsh told them she had "had enough of it all" and was planning to put her own group together, write her own songs and have a solo singing career.
Danny Foster, Noel Sullivan, Suzanne Shaw, Klass and Marsh shot to fame as the winners of ITV1 show Popstars last year, which plucked the quintet from obscurity and launched their pop careers.
Rumours
Their first single, Pure and Simple, was a runaway number one success and their album also claimed the top spot. Yet they have been dogged by rumours and speculation about a split for several months.
In December last year bookmaker William Hill named Hear'Say as the pop group most likely to split in the wake of Steps' demise. Reports of tension between Marsh and Klass have been persistent for many weeks yet the pair have denied the stories on several occasions during television interviews.
