NEW YORK, NY (Epic Records) - Colombian superstar Shakira was a big winner of last night's "Premio Lo Nuestro'' Latin Music Awards, America's most popular and most-watched Latin music awards show which airs on Univision. She racked up three awards in the Pop category that included Album of the Year for "Fijacion Oral, Volume 1," Song of the Year for "La Tortura," a duet with Alejandro Sanz and the Best Group or Duo in the Pop category award for "La Tortura." In a surprise show moment, Shakira emerged behind Latin star Juanes and then broke into performance of "Dia De Enero," a major highlight of the evening.

In other news, Shakira and Fugees frontman Wyclef Jean just completed the video for "Hips Don't Lie", the second single from her latest English album Oral Fixation, Volume 2. Oral Fixation, Volume 2 is already Gold in the US, Canada, Austria, Germany, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and India.

Meanwhile, last year's successes continue to mount for Shakira. Her Spanish album Fijacion Oral vol. 1 just won the Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album Grammy Award and the album has surpassed over 3 million sales worldwide. The English companion album Oral Fixation, vol. 2 debuted at No 5 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart making her second top 5 album of 2005 and Shakira the only artist ever to debut top 5 albums in English and Spanish in the same calendar year.
Stay tuned for world tour dates starting this summer.
