Nashville, TN (ACM) - Sizzling country duo, VAN ZANT, received a nomination today for the 41st Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music's Biggest Party of the Year, in the 'TOP VOCAL DUO' category.

'Absolutely a great honor. Who would have thought just a year ago when the album came out that it would be nominated. Last year we were there as presenters, this year we're nominees. We are both hoping we win,' says Johnny Van Zant.

Brother Donnie Van Zant continued, 'Since this is our first country album, it is a real honor just to be nominated. It will be very exciting to be attending the ACM Awards this year as a nominee.
The second release from their country debut, 'Nobody Gonna Tell Me What To Do' is currently in the Top 20 and climbing! For more information on Van Zant visit www.thevanzants.com.
The ACM Awards will be broadcast live Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 8:00 ET/PT from MGM Grand (Las Vegas) on CBS Television network.
