NEW YORK (KOCH Records) - Chopper City/KOCH Records artist B.G. has debuted at No 1 on the Billboard Independent Chart with his smash album, "The Heart of Tha Streetz Vol. 2 (I Am What I Am)." The album also debuted at No 6 on the Billboard Top 200. This marks the second time in the past year that an urban artist on KOCH Records debuted in the Top 10 (Jim Jones' "Harlem: Diary of a Summer" debuted at No 5 in August 2005).

On "The Heart of Tha Streetz Vol. 2 (I Am What I Am)," B.G. decided to get back to his roots by teaming up with former Cash Money producer Mannie Fresh for the hot single "Move Around." The single is already at a 1500 spins at Urban Radio and is the fastest growing B.G. single in years.

A video for "Move Around" (shot over 2 days on location in Atlanta and hurricane ravaged New Orleans) is currently airing on B.E.T., MTV2 and MTV Jamz.

With sales of over 7 million albums to his credit, he remains an indomitable figure and a huge fan-favorite, especially in the Dirty South where he is a house-hold name.

While signed to Ca$h Money, B.G. released a string of albums, including "True Story" (1993), "Chopper City" (1997), and 1997's "It's All On U (Volumes 1 and 2)." He further bolstered his status by becoming a member of the now legendary Hot Boys (Juvenile, Lil' Wayne, and Young Turk). B.G.'s "Chopper City in the Ghetto" (released in April of 1999) debuted at Number 1 on Billboard's Top 200 Charts. But what really put him on the map was the album's anthem, "Bling Bling," which catapulted B.G. to superstardom. He became a part of history when the term, "bling, bling" used to describe diamonds was added into The Oxford Dictionary, a testament of hip-hop's effect on modern and pop culture.

After releasing his sixth solo album, "Checkmate," B.G. walked away from Ca$h Money and launched his own imprint, Chopper City Records distributed by KOCH. "The Heart of Tha Streetz Vol 2 (I Am What I Am)" is the rapper's 4th album with KOCH. It follows "The Heart of Tha Streetz, Life After Cash Money" and "Livin' Legend" (which went Gold).
