NEW YORK (By Samantha Bowman/ Virgin Records) - With a suitcase full of ultra-melodic, deftly constructed songs, Virgin band The Summer Obsession is emerging as the object of addictive interest on tour and online.

Four pre-release tracks leaked on the band's myspace.com website - including a home-made video for the song "Death Said" - have generated more than 125,000 streams. The group's current road trip, which hasn't let up since opening for The Click Five at the top of 2006, is now extending into the mid-year, with an opening spot on Cartel's late-spring tour and the addition of Vans Warped Tour dates.

With production by Josh Abraham (Velvet Revolver; Staind) the Florida-based quartet - Luke, on keyboards and vocals; Chris, formerly of Good Charlotte, on drums and "shenanigans"; Fin, on guitar and vocals; Christ, on bass - has fashioned a clean and economical, yet brain-teasingly tasty sound, combining the resounding crunch of guitar-based pop/rock with a measured, ingenious dose of electronics. Their acknowledged influences, from The Doors, The Police and the Foo Fighters, are evident in the band's outstanding level of songcraft, as well as its gutsy, high-energy, shock-troop attack.

The band will release the album "This Is Where You Belong" on Virgin Records on August 29, 2006, preceded July 18th by the first single, the cinematic love story and coming-of-age tale "Do You Remember."
