NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Shakira Official Website) - Latin/Pop superstar Shakira swept the boards at the Billboard Latin Music Awards last night, winning six prizes. Her album Fijacion Oral Vol. 1 (Oral Fixation Vol. 1) won Female Latin Pop Album Of The Year and the single "La Torture" (The Torture) won four awards including Hot Latin Song Of The Year.

After picking up the album award, Shakira told the crowd in Hollywood, Florida, "Wow! Thank you, this is for all of you, my fans, who have been accompanying me, understanding and protecting me all these years."

One of the highpoints of the lively evening, reports the Miami Herald, was Shakira's duet with Wylef Jean of "Hips Don't Lie," in which she bellydanced, 'Let me see you move like you're from Colombia,' Jean urged her during the number. He was successful in his request.

Other multiple winners included reggaeton star Daddy Yankee, rapper Juanes, Dominican bachata singer Andy Andy, and Mexican pop group RBD, who all won three each. Singer-songwriter Joan Sebastian received the Hall of Fame Award after 30 years as a leading figure on the Mexican music scene.
