Music Australia) - Starky have been bubbling, boiling and brewing with sporadic shows over the past few months, gearing up for the release of their self titled LP due in store July 8th, 2006 through Universal
Music Australia. In May the boys will join Central Coast punksters After The Fall on the road to spread their sound from Brisbane to Adelaide, and Wagga to Ballarat, including a bunch of university campus events for which the band was hand picked by Xbox to launch the new 360 console.
With the first single 'Is This How It Ends' receiving rotation on radio across the country, rave reviews on their self titled EP Starky, an overseas deal with Island Records in the UK and solid year of live shows ahead of them, this four piece from Sydney are heading towards a huge year in 2006.
'With a bevy of high-profile supports slots, (Starky's) single 'Is This The End' has gone gang-busters, scoring them near-permanent radio rotation. 'Distraction' has the dark, sinister intent we expect from Interpol, with frontman Beau Cassidy's great delivery sounding both yearning and desperate. Songs as good as 'We Generate Friction' makes Starky an impressive return - sure the music is unrecognizable alongside the bands older work, but it's all the more exciting for it.'
