Sydney, AU (EMI MUSIC AUSTRALIA) - In the 18 months since her debut album release, Holly Throsby has been busy working on her next album 'Under the Town' which will be released on July 15 following the release of the first single 'Making A Fire' on June 13.

The songs on 'Under the Town' are rich in literary detail and are some of the most intimate Holly has written. Since the release of her first album 'On Night', Holly's voice has developed into a stronger more evocative instrument. This could be the result of plenty of practice live and/or more confidence in her craft…whatever the case we like it very much!

This confidence was apparent on Holly's cover of 'Not The Girl You Think You Are' from the Finn Brothers tribute album 'She Will Have Her Way'. Many critics, fans and even Neil Finn himself expressed their love of her interpretation.
Holly is about to play her first Australian shows in over nine months on a national tour, check out the details on the tours page.

Since the release of 'On Night', Holly has played tons of shows with artists such as Hayden, Micah P Hinson, Smog, Joanna Newsom, Mark Kozelek, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and Devendra Banhart and toured once nationally on her own. She has just returned from three weeks of shows in England, Scotland, Ireland and Sweden where her album was released locally via Southern. Apart from shows with Micah P Hinson, she also performed an in-store at Rough Trade Record store where her album was Album of the Week earlier in the year. Other fine reviews appeared in Mojo, Uncut and the indie bible Plan B which said 'This is really something special'.
The album 'Under the Town' is instore July 15.
