Sharlene Sutton/ www.gods-image.com) - God's Image consists of four anointed young gentlemen by the names of Branden, Marlon, Curtis, and Lamonte. GI, as they are affectionately known, is a musically diverse, multi-talented group destined for greatness. They are singers, rappers, dancers, songwriters, musicians, producers, and entrepreneurs. The guys have their own music production company. Group member Branden is President/CEO of BGA Entertainment, an Artist Management/Development company, which currently manages the group. Additionally, every member is either attending, or has graduated college. Branden graduated from
Elizabeth City
State University with a bachelor's degree in
Music Industry Studies.
Marlon is a Mass Communications Major at Virginia State University. Curtis is a Music Education Major at Virginia Commonwealth University. Lamonte is a Music Media Major at Norfolk State University. It is rare that you find all of these talents, skills, and gifts wrapped up into one unit. At many of their concerts, right after they wow you with a choreographed set, they will grab their instruments and sing/play the next set. Their colorful harmonies and tightly choreographed moves have been compared to the likes of Boyz II Men, Dru Hill, The Winans, NSYNC, and B2k. Though the group gets bombarded after the show by all of their fans wanting autographs, pictures, and CDs, GI always makes it known that it is not about them, but all about God.
GI has performed at major venues and events such as The World Famous Apollo Theater, The Bobby Jones Gospel Show, GMWA Conventions, and many more. The group has opened and/or performed with artists such as Mary Mary, Trin-i-tee 5:7, Tye Tribbett and GA, Shirley Caesar, Byron Cage, Tonex, Dorinda-Clark-Cole, the Beach Boys, and many more. In January of 2005, GI completed their first European Tour. Highlights included meeting and singing for the president of Italy. GI has recently been honored to perform at the inaugural ceremony for Virginia Governor Timothy Kaine. They have recently been invited to minister in Africa. The group has been a favorite among the youth explosion circuit, as well as mature concerts across the nation. They are currently headed into the studio with top producers to start work on their forthcoming CD project. Their ultimate goal is to change lives through the gifts that God has given them.
