LOS ANGELES (By Christy Wise/ Fanscape) - Taking Back Sunday and Angels & Airwaves launched a series of cross promotional contests today with over 30 websites and $10,000 in prizing. The online promotions are in celebration of a nationwide summer arena tour featuring both bands, as well as the latest album release from Taking Back Sunday - Louder Now, currently in stores, and the upcoming Angels & Airwaves release - We Don't Need to Whisper in stores May 23. These creative online marketing efforts are spearheaded by Los Angeles based new media marketing agency Fanscape, who developed and executed the concept.

Contest entrants have multiple chances to win 60GB iPods, Logitech speakers, gift cards from vendors including Hot Topic, and music from Taking Back Sunday and Angels & Airwaves. In addition, TowerRecords.com, the official retail partner, will offer a special package price for the purchase of both albums. Participants have the opportunity to enter the contest on 32 partner websites including Alloy, Blender, Buzznet, Heavy, and more (https://www.fanscape.com/tbs). This progressive new media marketing strategy is a quickly growing phenomenon giving artists the chance to blanket the web while undercutting the cost of traditional advertising. Fanscape CEO Larry Weintraub stresses the importance of online cross promotions, "Our concept was to create a mammoth amount of impressions by combining online advertising and online marketing. Through a collection of interactive promotions, the bands' music and images live on top lifestyle websites for an extended period of time. For the artists, it's a huge win by gaining cost-effective exposure. For the sites, it's a win because they get artist-driven traffic and exciting content."

A cross promotion of this magnitude is expected to put Taking Back Sunday and Angels & Airwaves in front of over 50 million internet savvy music and entertainment fans. However, the bands aren't the only ones that benefit from such a wide-scale promotion. Websites taking part enjoy an implied endorsement from both artists along with logo placement on all contest creative, as well as valuable user data.

Taking Back Sunday and Angels & Airwaves will kick off their summer arena tour on June 22nd in Jackson, NJ, with openers Head Automatica and The Subways. Tour dates and ticket purchase links are available on www.TakingBackSunday.com and www.AngelsandAirwaves.com.
