George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Patti Smith, Los Lobos, The Fab Faux and other artists to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of
Liberty State Park at an historic outdoor concert festival on Sunday, June 25, 2006.
The festival is expected to draw up to 15,000 people and raise significant funds to benefit The Friends of Liberty State Park, the non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and improving the park for free public use.
'As an advocate for Liberty State Park, I'm very excited about LibertyJAM,' said Sam Pesin, President of Friends of Liberty State Park. 'This is a truly unique public space with spectacular views of the New York City skyline, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty. I hope this concert will raise awareness about Liberty State Park among a new audience whom I hope will return with their friends and family to enjoy the beautiful open spaces the park has to offer.'
