Euless, TX (I AM PR/ www.worshipinstitute.com) - Andrae Crouch, whose gospel songs have been sung by Elvis Presley and Paul Simon, will receive the distinguished Cherub Award from the International Worship Institute (www.worshipinstitute.com) during its 20th anniversary celebration in Grapevine, Texas, July 7, 2006. LaMar Boschman, founder and dean of the International Worship Institute, will present the honor to Crouch, 66, for his outstanding contribution to the worship movement during the event's climactic grand finale.

Crouch's most popular songs with his gospel group The Disciples—'The Blood Will Never Lose It's Power,' 'Jesus is the Answer,' and 'My Tribute (To God Be the Glory)'— have transcended gospel music's traditional African American base to unify cultures. His music has been performed at the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall and on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In 2004, Crouch, who has produced and arranged for Quincy Jones, Elton John and Madonna, became only one of three gospel musicians to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

'Andrae Crouch is a founding father of worship music,' said Boschman about the next Cherub Award recipient. 'When he plays a conference or concert he has an unusual ability to lead people somewhere spiritually. He was one of the first musicians who used his music to lead people in vertical worship. What a gift and example he is to us all!'

In 1998, the International Worship Institute first presented the Cherub Award to Dr. Robert Webber for his Complete Library of Christian Worship. Since then, the Cherub has been awarded to other leaders in the realm of worship, including Jack Hayford, Joseph Garlington, Judson Cornwall, and Bill and Gloria Gaither.

From 9 AM to midnight, July 3-7, Boschman's International Worship Institute will pack thousands of worship leaders, musicians, pastors, dancers, choir directors and church goers from around the globe in to the Gaylord Texan Resort and Conference Center for 100 workshops, biblical teaching, musical training and transcendent worship sessions. Other special guests include Jack Hayford, Paul Baloche, Joseph Garlington, The Parachute Band and Boschman's 250-piece International Worship Institute Choir.

Evenings from 7-9 PM Central are free, open to the public, and will be broadcast live on Dallas' 100,00-watt KVTT radio throughout Dallas/Ft. Worth and via webcast to national audiences at www.kvtt.org. For information, visit www.worshipinstitute.com.
