KINGSTON, Jamaica (By Myleik Teele/ B/W/R Public Relations) - The Marley Family today announced the return of the 'Bob Marley Roots, Rock, Reggae Festival,' a five-hour genre-blending outdoor music festival tour featuring music, food, street vendors and good vibes. The 17-city event kicks off August 6 at the Reggae on the River Festival in Redway, CA (full tour schedule below). The festival title was borrowed from the Bob Marley song 'Roots, Rock, Reggae,' featured on his 1976 album Rastaman Vibration.

This year's festival is full of firsts. It marks the first time sons Ziggy and Stephen Marley have joined reggae pioneer Bunny Wailer on tour. It will be the first time Ziggy will perform songs from his upcoming CD Love is My Religion, set for release July 2 on the Marley Family record label Tuff Gong Worldwide (Target will act as the sole U.S. retailer for the album and this is the first time Ziggy has ever released an independent album without using the traditional major label infrastructure).
As well, this will be Stephen Marley's first headlining tour where he will perform songs from his solo debut album Mind Control, set for release this Fall on Tuff Gong/ Ghetto Youths/ Universal-Republic. Ziggy and Stephen are co-headliners for the tour.

Grammy-winning Latin rock band Ozomatli and MuzikMafia godfather John Nicholson are also confirmed for the bill. Festival goers can expect a full set from each of the artists but should be prepared for surprising collaborations. During the event, the street vendors will also offer a variety items including authentic Jamaican cuisine and wares. For more information, go to https://www.rootsrockreggae.com.

'We're very excited to take this tour on the road again to honor the spirit of roots, rock and reggae,' commented Ziggy Marley.

ABOUT ZIGGY MARLEY
Ziggy first sat in on recording sessions with his father when he was ten years old. Joining with his three siblings to become The Melody Makers, Ziggy crafted his own soulful sound blending blues, R&B, hip-hop and reggae. After two decades as the driving creative force behind The Melody Makers – a triple Grammy-winning act which included brother Stephen and sisters Sharon and Cedella, Ziggy released his debut solo album in 2003, Dragonfly, which featured such guest artists as Flea and John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Mike Einziger and DJ Kilmore (Incubus). His second solo album, Love is My Religion, is a twelve-track CD scheduled for release July 2 and showcases Ziggy's tightly rolled talents as a songwriter (writing all cuts), musician (playing most of the instruments) and producer (shepherding all dozen tracks, with three co-produced by Grammy winner Ross Hogarth).

ABOUT STEPHEN MARLEY
Stephen Marley will release his highly anticipated solo debut album 'Mind Control' this year. Music heads have been up on his work for years, whether for collaborations with R&B stars like Erykah Badu or his part on the dancehall burner "It Was Written", and especially after 'Chant Down Babylon,' the platinum-selling star-studded Bob Marley tribute he produced. Stephen also co-produced his brother Damian's smasdebut album, 'Welcome to Jamrock.' Stephen Marley has also been the recipient of five GRAMMY awards for his work, the most of any Marley and more then any other Reggae artist. The release of his debut solo album 'Mind Control' represents a new stage in Stephen's evolution, one that brings together the genius of his production and his wise and soulful voice with hip-hop beats, smoky bass and winding keyboard runs. This is the sound of a man coming into full realization of his powers-and his legacy.

ABOUT BUNNY WAILER
Three time Grammy-Award winner Bunny Wailer (also known as Bunny Livingston) teamed with Peter Tosh and Bob Marley to form the Wailers in 1964. Marley's closest friend, Bunny Wailer is the only surviving original Wailer. The Wailers hit No 1 with 'Simmer Down' in February 1964, and a steady stream of rude-boy singles in 1964 and 1965 cemented the Wailers' reputation as a tough new group that was to be reckoned with. Bunny Wailer went on to record several more albums with Marley and Tosh including the band's international smash and major-label debut album Catch A Fire and its follow-up Burnin.

ABOUT OZOMATLI
Brewing a vital concoction of Latin salsa, urban hip-hop, and jazz-funk, Ozomatli formed in Los Angeles in the mid-'90s. The group caught the attention of Carlos Santana, who took them on their first national tour, opening for Mana and Santana as co-headliners in the summer of 1999. Embrace the Chaos was released in 2001 and won a Grammy Award, followed by an EP, Coming Up, in 2003. A third full-length effort, Street Signs, came out in 2004, and subsequently won a Grammy and a Latin Grammy for Latin Rock Alternative album. Ozomatli is Rau'l 'El Bully' Pacheco (guitar/lead vocals), Ulises Bella (tenor sax, clarinet, vocals), Jiro Yamaguchi (percussion), Sheffer Burton (trombone), Wil-Dog Abers (bass, vocals), Mairo Calire (drums), Rene 'Spinobi' Dominguez (turntablist), Justin 'Nin~o' Pore'e (percussion, MC, vocals), Asdrubal Sierra (trumpet, lead vocals) and Jabu (MC).

ABOUT JOHN NICHOLSON
John Nicholson is one of the godfathers of the MuzikMafia, which has spawned the massive successes of Gretchen Wilson and Big & Rich. Now, with his debut album A Lil Sump'm Sump'm, co-produced by Angelo, the singer-songwriter brings a gritty roadhouse hybrid of soul, blues, funk and rock to center stage.
