NEW YORK (V2 records) - The Rakes are coming back to America to support their new record Capture/Release on V2 records. With all the favorable attention they have been getting it's no surprise to find out they have toured with the likes of Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand and The Buzzcocks to name a few.
Their appearances in the states have up until now been few but well received and this upcoming 10 day tour will prove to be an anticipated relief to many fans across the country. Interviews, photos and music are available and interviews are currently being done. The press has come in strong for these Brits, see below for a few words.

The Rakes bring their rambunctious charm with a nostalgic punk-rocker feel. Playing raw chords with hard yells, they have groupies dancing to every beat. - URB

British art punkers deliver serious guitar head rush on excellent debut. The Rakes aren't fashion plates or tortured artists - just four London art-punk kids with the perfect fusion of David Bowie and The Buzzcocks. The Rakes hate their jobs, hate their pathetic love lives - the only thing that cheers them up is smelling the vodka on your breath. Why can't all bands be this much fun? - ROLLING STONE

The Rakes unabashedly honor the razor-sharp bite and bile of late 70's punk pioneers Wire. Efficiently gnawing their way through six terse tracks, the band keeps each song under three minutes and fully loaded with snarl and sneer that is post-punk's calling card. "Dark Cloud" and "22 Grand Job" jab with a fighter's precision. - BUST
