NEW YORK, NY (Rykodisc) - On July 18th Ryko Filmworks is set to release "Music From The Film The Groomsmen." Featuring the debut single "Four Cheers" from stand-out newcomers The Blue Jackets, the companion to Edward Burns' latest film "The Groomsmen" is a stellar rock and roll adventure showcasing new artists The Blue Jackets and Track Rabbit while also highlighting classic tunes from Pretenders, Men At Work, and The Motels. "The Groomsmen" opens in New York and Los Angeles on July 14th, and nationwide August 4th.

Award winning writer/director/actor Edward Burns ("The Brothers McMullen," "Sidewalks of New York," "Saving Private Ryan") stars alongside John Leguizamo, Matthew Lillard, Donal Logue, Jay Mohr and Brittany Murphy in this smart comedy centering around a wedding and its inevitable consequences of coming of age in your 30s. Burns wrote, directed, and stars in "The Groomsmen," and was actively involved in selecting the soundtrack, having worked closely alongside Music Supervisor/Executive Soundtrack Producer Tracy McKnight.

Comments Burns, "The music is truly another character in the film and that's why it needed to be great. By digging out some old forgotten classics from the '80s and coupling them with some new soon-to-be classics we created a one-of-a-kind soundtrack."

Featuring a stripped down, guitar-driven rock sound, New York City's The Blue Jackets first came to the attention of Edward Burns when he heard an early demo of "Four Cheers" and knew it was a perfect fit for the film (he even directed the upcoming video for the song). Led by songwriter/guitarist P.T. Walkley, The Blue Jackets also contribute their take on the classic "I Hear You Knocking" to the album.

Track listing is as follows:
1. My Kinda Lover - Billy Squier
2. The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em) - Greg Kihn
3. Four Cheers - The Blue Jackets
4. Only The Lonely - The Motels
5. Gold - John Stewart
6. I Hear You Knocking - The Blue Jackets
7. Be Good Johnny - Men At Work
8. A Man Who Knows - P.T. Walkley and Robert Gary
9. Mystery Achievement - Pretenders
10. Best Of Both Worlds - Track Rabbit
11. Someday, Someway - Marshall Crenshaw
12. Your Frozen Heart - Golden Steelhorse Dynamite *** (Bonus Track)

The Marlboro Road Gang Productions and Bauer-Martinez Studios film debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in April to rave reviews. Further festival play dates this summer include Outfest and the Seattle International Film Festival.
