London, UK (64 RECORDS) - Rui's 64 records imprint has been raising some appreciative eyebrows in electronic music circles for the best part of a year. Leaving the tribal house behind and looking for a new sonic challenge, Rui's new electro glitchy sound is finding more and more fans with every release.
Praying Mantis will be the label's first album release and what a way to open proceedings. Released worldwide as a digital album, Praying Mantis finds Rui in wonderfully experimental form; twelve tracks of sonic innovation and electronic dexterity from one of dance music's finest producers.
Rui explains: 'This album is where my head is at the moment. I've been off using singers for awhile and my intention was to do an album of no vocals at all. Since this isn't a 12' release for DJ's, it has given me the opportunity to express ideas in music that I usually do not have the chance to use.'
Limited 12' copies of The Hive Mind, released simply as Insect 1, and also The Depths Of Ketalar, labelled Insect 2, have both sold out immediately. There also plans for several remixes of tracks from the album to be released on vinyl over the course of the summer.
Praying Mantis will be available in the UK through iTunes, Napster, Beatport, mycokemusic.com, MSN Music, Wanadoo, HMV Digital Downloads, Tiscali Music Club, Ministry Of Sound, Virgin Downloads, BigNoiseMusic.com, Packard Bell, amongst others
