 DETROIT, MI. (Horace Sheffield Center) - Four of rhythm and blues' top artists and groups will bring their soulful sounds to the city when the acts take over Chene Park this August for the 7th Annual Sheffield Center, "Man O' Man" benefit concert. Peabo Bryson, the Floaters, Russell Thompkins Jr. & The New Stylistics and Harold Melvin's Blue Notes will perform at the 7:30 p.m. show on August 19, 2006 near the Detroit River, making the event a night to remember. "These are some of the most talented crooners of our time, and they will put on a show featuring so many classics, it will make it hard not to sing along," said Rev. Horace Sheffield, who heads the Sheffield Center in Detroit. "We want everyone to come out for what we know will be a good time and an unforgettable time." The concert, done in conjunction with Fifth Third Bank, Ford Motor Company and the MGM Grand Casino, will be preceded by a $100-per-person VIP reception at 6 p.m. with the artists that perform at the show.
