'Ganging Up on the Sun' Delivers Highest Chart Debut for Guster

BURBANK, CA (Reprise/ www.guster.com ) - Guster's "Ganging Up on the Sun," released June 20th on Reprise Records, debuted at Number 25 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. The album scanned 30,377 units in its first week, making it the highest debut of the band's career. "Ganging Up on the Sun," the band's fifth release, retains Guster's trademark melodic pop craftsmanship and flawless harmonies, while adding a classic rock feel to the mix. Entertainment Weekly describes the album as "both expansive and dreamy," while allmusic.com gushes, "'Ganging Up on the Sun' might just be their best yet."

Guster, which includes Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist Joe Pisapia alongside original members singer/guitarist Ryan Miller, singer/guitarist Adam Gardner, and percussionist Brian Rosenworcel, has clearly evolved. "Almost 15 years into its career, Guster has aged from a slightly quirky, bongo-led trio into a quartet of mature, fully realized indie-pop songwriters," notes Relix magazine, while the Associated Press says, "Like The Beatles and The Kinks, these college rockers have graduated beyond the simple catchiness of their early work."

Guster hits the road this summer on a co-headlining tour with Ray LaMontagne kicking off on July 11th in Baltimore, continuing through October 5th in Seattle. Guster will also perform at Austin City Limits in Austin, TX on September 15th.
