BURBANK, CA. (Walt Disney Records) - Walt Disney Records enjoys a new label best with three soundtracks - High School Musical, Disney/Pixar Cars and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - ranking in the Top 25 on the Billboard Top 200 chart while simultaneously occupying the top three positions on the Billboard Soundtrack chart.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, sales for the week ending July 22, 2006 put High School Musical at No 8 (over 52,000 units) and Disney/Pixar Cars at No 14 (almost 40,000 units) in the Top 200, with Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest debuting at No 24 (over 30,000 units). On the Billboard Soundtrack chart, High School Musical, Disney/Pixar Cars and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest secure the No 1, No 2 and No 3 spots respectively. Walt Disney Records previously held the top 3 positions on the Billboard Soundtrack Chart during the week of November 22, 2003, when The Cheetah Girls, Brother Bear and The Lizzie McGuire Movie topped the chart.

The Walt Disney Records soundtrack to the blockbuster Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical is 2006's No 1 top-selling album according to Nielsen SoundScan. The triple-platinum soundtrack also is the No 1 best-selling children's title since Nielsen SoundScan debuted back in 1992 and boasts 6 gold singles.

The Disney/Pixar Cars Original Motion Picture Soundtrack debuted in June at No 8, making it the first Pixar soundtrack to enter the Billboard Top 10 and to ship gold. The soundtrack features music by Rascal Flatts, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Brad Paisley, James Taylor and score by Oscar-winning composer Randy Newman.

The soundtrack to Walt Disney Pictures' record-breaking mega-hit, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, also debuted at No 10 on the Digital Album chart. The CD features a new score by internationally-renowned composer Hans Zimmer.
