LOS ANGELES (CES) - Collaboration and file sharing in a legal domain will be featured at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in The Download TechZone. This returning showcase will again be co-sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the
National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and the Recording
Industry Association of
America (RIAA). The International CES, the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow, returns to Las Vegas, Nev., January 8-11, 2007.

Last year's The Download was a great success, pulling innovators, artists, technology companies and the recording industry together for this compelling cause," said CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro. "This exhibit showcases technologies and services that provide consumers the music they desire when and where they want. We are hopeful The Download will inspire our industries to recognize how much we can achieve when we strike the right balance between protecting copyrights, consumers' rights and the right to innovate."
"It's a pleasure once again to join with CEA and NMPA to sponsor this important display," said Mitch Bainwol, chairman and CEO of the RIAA. "Music is the engine for so much exciting growth within the consumer electronics industry. We want to continue to find new partners and forge new relationships to offer the world's best music to fans. CES is an important occasion for all parties to come together and celebrate these legal partnerships."
"The music publishing industry is excited about the opportunities of emerging technologies," said David Israelite, NMPA president and CEO. "We support innovative, legal methods of bringing more music to our fans; therefore we are pleased to sponsor this event."
