Washington, DC (By Curtis Midkiff/ JCM Entertainment) - The serene STEEED Stables and Farm will provide a picturesque setting for the debut of a benefit music festival on August 5th, 2006. The WHOA DOWN After Dark is a combination concert, picnic, and block party all in one location with the goal of raising funds and awareness for the work of STEEED Inc., a 501 c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of inner-city youth.

The event will feature live performances by internationally renowned soul band Fertile Ground; Billboard Breakthrough Artist of the Year Anthony David; Jon Bibbs, a soul artist hailing from Virginia; and GREEN TEA one of the city's rising soul sirens.

The event will be hosted by EZ Street of WKYS-FM who is actively involved in numerous civic endeavors throughout the metropolitan area. More than 200 guests are expected at the event, which has the potential to become an annual summer tradition for music lovers.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Soaring Toward Educational Enrichment via Equine Discovery (STEEED) a locally based organization launched in May of 2004 to provide District children equestrian, ecological and environmental science education and recreation activities through After-school, Saturday Morning, Teen Work-Study, and Summer Camp programs.

DC's only youth serving equestrian and horticulture organization, STEEED – in concert with District of Columbia Parks and Recreation, the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships, D.C. Public Schools, R&F Stables and Greystone Riding Academy – provides high quality interactive programs and services to children in communities lacking access to such activities. For more information about the organization and its programs, visit www.steeed.org.
