NEW YORK,NY (Interscope Records) - Ah, the pleasures of summer. The taste of tart mint julep on your tongue. The sting of L.A. Looks hairgel in your eyes after a vigorous badminton match. The anticipation in your heart while camped outside the local cineplex for the first screening of "Snakes on a Plane."

With so many agreeable sensations to take in this season, it's important to not neglect your ears. We speak not of sunblock application, but tending to your incus', malleus', and stapes' need to hear the BEST bands in-person when they roll through your town.

Here at Interscope records (slogan: Interscope, You Won't Believe Your Ears) we happen to have a gaggle of groups "playing out" this summer, including (but not limited to), Dirty Pretty Things, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wolfmother, and TV on the Radio. All have dates lined up for the dog-days of August and beyond to imbue your summer with all the enjoyable and timeless qualities of a Bruce Brown surf film.

DIRTY PRETTY THINGS

Dirty Pretty Things' debut album, "Waterloo To Anywhere," hits record shops August 15th. For this occasion, the Londoners will punt over the Thames for a run of stateside shows. Fronted by ex-libertine Carl Barat, Dirty Pretty Things recently filmed a video for the single "Bang Bang, You're Dead" in Mexico City, evoking Denzel Washington thriller "Man On Fire." The original idea was an homage to Steven Segal's "Fire Down Below" but this plan was scrapped due to complications with the West Virginia Film Commission and objections from Lindsay Lohan / Brandon Davis peace broker Elliot Mintz.
Bang, Bang. It's on.

YEAH YEAH YEAHS

BK's own Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be playing a brace of hometown shows in McCarren Pool Park with Sonic Youth. Also making a special appearance, mustached 1972 Olympic Gold Medal winner Mark Spitz will synchronistically swim the 400 meter individual medley to the sounds of "Gold Lion" in the stageside pool. As for Miss Karen O, she's psyched for everyone to see her doppelganger in the brand new and created-from-fan-video-submissions "Cheated Hearts" video. He is a wild child outta juvie, newly enamored with mineral foundation. Nick will be manning the Brooklyn Lager keg, so you betta getcha ass over. And Brian is still Brian. Good. Old. Brian.

WOLFMOTHER

Wolfmother aren't really wolves or mothers, so their name is a kind of a lie. The following things are true however: They are from Australia, and you might have heard their song "Dimension" as the theme music from Dane Cooks "Tourgasm," or maybe the last time you were at a party. The second single from the band's self-titled debut (which is multi-platinum in their homeland,) "The Joker & Thief," will be the featured music video & single for the upcoming "Jackass: Number 2" movie. Wolfmother will be touring the U.S. after taking their vine-ripened riffs to post-World Cup Apocalypse to Europe with avocado-lovers Pearl Jam, having made delicious rock and roll guacamole.
