BURBANK, CA. (By Penny Palmer/ Warner Bros. Records/ www.cutchemist.com) - Turntable wizard and in-demand DJ, Cut Chemist, will co-headline a fall tour with rapper Lyrics Born. The three-week tour, which launches October 19th in Los Angeles, will traverse the U.S. into November, and finish up in Philadelphia on the 11th.

The Los Angeles-bred Cut Chemist, formerly from Latin rap group Ozomatli and old-school hip-hop revivalists Jurassic 5, is touring in support of his first full-length solo album "The Audience's Listening," which was released by Warner Bros. Records on July 11th. The album features the bossa nova-style single "The Garden," which includes a sample of Astrud Gilberto's "Berimbau." "The Audience's Listening" jumps from Brazilian samba vibes to rock-influenced beats to Cut's traditional funk-fueled hip-hop bangers, all the while maintaining the crate-digging vibe that he's become known for. "Finally, a DJ album that doesn't need big-name guests or tired gimmicks to get its music and message across," says Billboard magazine.

In addition, Cut will perform two shows in the Bay Area on August 17th, one at Amoeba Music in San Francisco and the other at Amoeba's Berkeley location. The appearances are unprecedented, as the popular indie record mecca has never hosted both in-stores the same day. Fans who attend both events will be able to enter a drawing with a chance to win a Vestax Handy Trax portable turntable signed by Cut Chemist. And those who purchase "The Audience's Listening" at Amoeba will receive a free limited-edition silk-screened poster by Humboldt artist Forest Stearns. "The Los Angeles in-store had such an enormous turnout that we didn't want his Bay Area fans to have to wait for a tour to hear the album live - we decided to deliver Cut Chemist sooner than later. We support the album and are glad to be apart of its success," says Amoeba Marketing Director Kara Lane.
