Elf Power Announce US Tour Dates in Support of 'Back to the Web' Beginning September 2006

NEW YORK, NY (Rykodisc) - The Athens, GA-based indie band Elf Power are set to embark on a national tour beginning Thursday, September 7th at the Hummingbird in Macon, GA in support of their recent Rykodisc release "Back to the Web."

"Back to the Web," a darkly orchestrated masterpiece, is the band's seventh full-length album and debut on the Rykodisc label. The album is a twisting journey of indie-rock meets '60s inspired psychedelia featuring 12-string acoustic guitars, violins and cellos that weave harmoniously sublime and lovely tunes.

Founded in 1994 by members Andrew Rieger (singer/songwriter), Laura Carter (accordion, keys) and Bryan Poole (bass), and now joined by John Fernandes (of Olivia Tremor Control on violin and clarinet), Josh Lott (drums), and Jimmy Hughes (guitar), Elf Power continue on a creative and evolving path rooted in rich melodies and sweetly haunting vocals.
