LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) - The David Lee Roth/Sammy Hagar co-headlining tour will be announced Tuesday (April 16) at a press conference in Los Angeles. The two former Van Halen frontmen will alternate opening and closing duties, with both onstage for a show-closing finale at the end of each gig. The outing is expected to get under way May 29 at the Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and the tour should run for about 25 dates--but if the demand is there, another 20 shows could be added to the itinerary. The trek is being billed as Sammy Hagar & David Lee Roth Tour 2002: Song For Song, The Heavyweight Champs Of Rock 'N Roll, which puts to rest some recent tour-name speculation. Some people had taken to calling it the "Sam & Dave Tour," while others referred to the pairing as "Sans Halen."
