Neil Sedaka digs! – Hot off the heels of its world premiere at DancesWithFilms, 'Angel City' receives a fine endorsement from music legend, Neil Sedaka, as it heads to the Temecula Valley International Film and
Music Festival.
In addition to being an official selection at numerous high-profile film festivals including DancesWithFilms in Los Angeles, 'Angel City' recently received a wonderful endorsement from Neil Sedaka who enjoyed both the film and its original music: "I saw Niels Cederfeld's movie 'Angel City.' I was most impressed with the music. The songs are melodic, and the lyrics poetic. They are contemporary sounding and could easily wind up on the charts. I thought the music was well placed in the film. Niels is a multi-talented artist with a bright future, remindful of a young Clint Eastwood. He has a great presence on the screen." - Neil Sedaka
While such an endorsement would certainly be music to anyone's ears, for Niels Cederfeld, it's a dream come true since he not only produced, directed, and stars in the film, but also composed its original music. As Mr. Cederfeld notes, 'As thrilled as I am to be accepted by some of my favorite film festivals, what's equally thrilling is the amazing response the (film's) original music is generating – both from Mr. Sedaka and audiences in general … Of course, I'm still totally committed to my film career goals, but I'm equally excited about the possibilities with music.' And 'Angel City' screenwriter, Sally Hughes, who also wrote the 'soundtrack' lyrics, echoes this sentiment: 'As much as I love writing scripts, the best time of my life was the summer that Niels and I sat in his living room and cranked out 30+ original songs … That the Temecula Valley International Film and Music Festival is as much about music as film is kismet - and that our 'Angel City' has been so well-received and also recorded by MTV's next great sensation, David Aldo, who performed at Demi and Ashton's wedding, is the icing on the (wedding) cake.'
